KDM Farm is a full-service equine reproduction facility in Monmouth, ME, owned and operated by Dr. Charlie Brown. We also have FPS Friesians for sale. Our breeding services are performed with kindness and compassion, with the mare or stallion’s health, comfort, and well-being as our priorities.

Mares

We provide on-site breeding via fresh, cooled, or frozen semen. Embryo transfers can be either transferred into resident recipients, shipped to a commercial recipient herd, or vitrified for later transfer. Our facility has four foaling stalls which are monitored by cameras

Stallions

We train stallions to collect from a mount mare, a phantom, or off the ground. We can use the semen for on-site breeding, package and ship it to the mare, or freeze it for later use. We are USDA-licensed for international shipment of frozen semen. Stallions can stand as residents of KDM Farm for the breeding season or haul in to be collected as needed.

Farm Staff

Jay Prince

Jay joined the KDM Farm team in 2007. He is instrumental in the day to day operations and care of our animals. He assists in all aspects of the breeding farm as well as repairs and maintenance at Annabessacook Veterinary. Jay shares his off time with his girlfriend Kristen and their dog Raya. He enjoys everything outdoors from fishing, hunting, gardening and camping.

Tyler Brown

Tyler is the youngest son of Dr. Charlie Brown, DVM. He grew up at KDM Farm. Tyler has always played a major role in both the farm and the veterinary clinic as their lead mechanic. He is the man that keeps the trucks and equipment running properly. Along with being the full time mechanic, Tyler is also a crucial part of other everyday maintenance and operations. Tyler lives on the farm with his wife Kimberly, their daughter RaeLynn, and two siberian Huskies (Sig & Tikka). In his free time, he likes spending time with friends and family, working on his antique trucks, and flying.
